This Livingston County, MI, road bridge had maxed out its service life, requiring the total replacement of the structure. We removed the old box culvert and placed a new concrete structure in its place, creating a reliable crossing over a busy roadway.
This storm drainage system in the city of Grand Blanc required replacing for proper water flow and erosion control in a highly populated area. We removed the existing structure and replaced it with an updated system that functions properly.
The University of Michigan’s School of Social Work required an updated courtyard to support their renovation plans. Our team completed all necessary sitework to prepare the area for construction, including demolition of the existing concrete, replacement of underground electrical utilities for new lighting, and installation of additional storm drainage structures. We then regraded the site to ensure proper drainage and a stable foundation for the new courtyard design.
Our team completed site work and built a temporary concrete pad for the contractor to use during the addition of a preschool in Bloomfield Hills, MIchigan. Our experienced site work team works closely with the contractor to understand their project and ensure the site is excavated and graded to meet their utility and drainage needs, and provides the ideal base for the project.
Our team completed the site development for the general contractor building the addition on the Orion Township Municipal Building. Our excavation team cleared and graded the land to create a stable building pad for the addition to stand, including drainage systems to prevent water accumulation around the building. WIth proper sloping around the area, the building should remain stable and strong throughout all weather conditions.
We worked with Barton Malow to complete site work and underground utility installation for two Allen Park Pulic Schools additions. This project was scheduled tightly to utilize spring break and summer vacation, and completed in time for the new school year. We started with demolition of the site to prepare for the building pads, installed underground sewer and water utilities. We built new parking lots, sub contracting the final concrete pavement to Merlo Construction.
The Fowlerville Public Libary required updated infrastructure without hindering the use of their facility to the community. Beginning with the parking lot, we removed and undercut approximately 35,000 square feet of the existing area, followed with removing 3,000 cubic yards of contaminated soil and replacing it with engineered fill that will ensure long-term stability of the area.
We then installed new sewer and water infrastructure, integrating a bioswale at the surface for sustainable stormwater management. This project was carefully planned and executed to minimize disruptions in the library operations.
The Livingston County Road Commission had a section of local roads in need of enhanced safety and functionality of the catch basins and drainage systems. Our team repaired the existing basins and implemented ditching solutions, allowing the roads to manage water runoff effectively. This minimizes the risk of erosion and flooding which can impact the stability of the road structure.
We were hired to complete the site package for a storage unit development project for Alpha Storage. A site development package like this includes clearing and grubbing the land, demolishing and removing any existing structures on the property and then balancing the site to accommodate the new site design.
We then grade the building pads to create a stable base, trench utilities for installation and complete final grading for parking lots and green spaces around the development.
Our customer, Farmer Development was dealing with a faulty stormwater management system that would flood the neighboring complex during high rainwater events.
To diagnose this critical issue, we had to shoot the grades and use a rover camera to find the invert elevations of the pipe within the stormwater system. We discovered the issue in a 300-foot section of 36-inch concrete pipe.
The only viable solution to remedy the issue in this length of pipe was to demolish the parking lot, remove the faulty section and re-install the pipe correctly. Despite the extensive fix, we salvaged and reused the existing pipes to reduce overall cost.
Excellent Services. Your trench work bailed us out of a major issue that no one else was willing to tackle. Thanks for squeezing us into your summer schedule.
I highly recommend Carl and his crew. We had them replace a 100+ft retaining wall right in between our house and the two neighbors and they did an amazing job. Easy to work with, reliable, and they made sure we were happy with the final product!
Carl and his team did an awesome job completing the projects for our new build home. Planning, communication, and service were all a top notch experience for us. We highly recommend them.
I've never had such a professional and experienced company at my property. I had a very difficult patio build where the old one had too be saved and the new one dressing up an old structure. This was almost impossible until I met up with Highland Services.
We hired Carl and the crew to dig a basement for us. It was a tricky job - narrow lot with excavating up an existing crawl space and footings. The work was done perfectly. Very responsive and took care of business.
